Child Safety Standards — Krickit

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Krickit is a cricket community: people score matches, run teams, clubs and tournaments, post, share stories and chat. Young players are part of cricket, so keeping children safe is part of running Krickit. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and how to report it.

Child safety contact: support@krickit.in

1. Zero tolerance

Krickit prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation of any kind. That includes:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, text or other content that sexualises a minor
  • Grooming: befriending a child, or someone who cares for one, in order to sexually abuse or exploit them
  • Sexualised comments, messages or requests directed at a minor
  • Sextortion, and any threat or pressure to obtain sexual content from a minor
  • Trafficking, or advertising a minor for sexual purposes
  • Sharing, requesting, or linking to any of the above, anywhere on Krickit, including private chats

These rules apply to every part of Krickit: posts, comments, stories, profile photos, team, club, ground and tournament pages, and chat. They are part of our Terms of Service.

2. How to report

  • In the app: every post, comment, story, chat message and profile has a Report option. Choose the reason that fits; reports about a child’s safety go to the front of our review queue.
  • By email: write to support@krickit.in with the username or a link to the content. Please do not attach or forward the content itself.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (India) or your local emergency number first. You can also report to India’s National Cybercrime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in, or to the child helpline on 1098.

You can also block an account from its profile. Someone you block cannot message you, follow you or see your posts.

3. What we do

  • We review child-safety reports as a priority, and act within 24 hours.
  • Content that breaks these standards is removed, and the account that posted it is closed permanently. We do not give warnings for CSAE.
  • We report CSAM and child exploitation to the authorities as the law requires, including India’s law enforcement under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology Act, and we preserve the evidence they need.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement requests about child safety.

4. Built-in protections

  • Accounts are for adults. Anyone under 18 must have their account created and managed by a parent or guardian (see our Terms).
  • Anyone can make their profile private, so only approved followers see it.
  • Anyone can block an account, which also stops it messaging them.
  • No one can add a player to a team, club or ground directly: the player gets an invite and decides for themselves.
  • We do not show personalised ads to anyone we know to be under 18.

5. Compliance

Krickit complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including the POCSO Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
