How to run a cricket player auction for your league

A player auction turns a local league into an event. With Krickit’s cricket auction app, every team owner bids from their own phone, every bid is shown to everyone the moment it is made, and the squads go straight into your tournament. Here is how to run one.

Step 1: set the purses and the player pool

Give each team a purse, set base prices, and let players register for the auction. Every player card shows that player’s record, so owners bid on real numbers.

  • A purse for every team
  • Base prices for players
  • Player cards with their Krickit stats

Step 2: bid live, against the clock

Each player comes up with a timer. Owners bid from their phones, wherever they are, and every bid resets the clock. A last call comes before every sale, so nobody misses a player.

  • A bid timer on every player
  • A last call before the sale

Step 3: squads and purses, always on screen

Every team’s squad and remaining purse is always visible, so owners know exactly what they can still afford. Unsold players go back into the pool and can come up again.

Step 4: a result nobody can argue with

Every bid for every player is kept in order: who bid, how much and when, with the final price and the buying team. When the auction ends, the squads go straight into the tournament.

Make it an event: stream the auction

Put your auction on YouTube with Krickast: the player on the block, both teams in the race, the bid counting up and the SOLD moment, the way the big leagues show it. Broadcasting an auction costs 250 Krickit coins.
