How to put a live cricket score on your YouTube stream

A live cricket stream looks like television once the score is on screen. Krickast, Krickit’s score ticker, adds a live cricket scoreboard, player cards, scorecards and charts to your stream in OBS, Prism Live or vMix, and it updates itself ball by ball from the match you score in Krickit. Here is how to set it up in a few minutes.

Live cricket score overlay on a YouTube stream: batter card above the score ticker

What you need

A phone to score the match in the Krickit app, a streaming app with a browser source (OBS Studio, Prism Live Studio or vMix), and a YouTube channel to go live on. There is nothing to install for the overlay itself: it is a web page your streaming app shows above the camera.

  • The match created and scored in Krickit
  • OBS, Prism Live or vMix
  • 50 Krickit coins to put the match on air (250 for a player auction)

Step 1: open Krickast and pick the match

Go to krickit.in/broadcast and sign in with your Krickit account. The matches you own, organise or were made broadcaster of are listed; choose one, pick a graphics look and put it on air.

Step 2: add the overlay to OBS, Prism or vMix

Copy your overlay link and add it as a browser source, sized 1920 × 1080, above your camera. The link never changes, so you add it once and use it for every match.

  • OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste the link, 1920 × 1080
  • Prism Live Studio and vMix: add a web or browser source the same way
  • Keep it above the camera so the graphics sit on top

Step 3: go live and score

Start your YouTube stream and score the match in Krickit as usual. The score ticker updates ball by ball: the score, overs, target and required rate, both batters and the bowler. In Auto mode fours, sixes, wickets and the end of each over go on air by themselves.

  • Live score, batters, bowler and run rates on the ticker
  • Batter and bowler cards, partnership and the new batter walking in
  • Your own message on the ticker, any time

Scorecards, leaders and charts on air

From the console, every broadcast graphic is one tap away: full-screen batting and bowling scorecards, the playing XIs, the target, the match summary, tournament leaders and the points table, and charts from the Analysis tab such as the worm and the wagon wheel.

Choose a look: 2011 or 2019 World Cup style

Pick the graphics look that suits your stream. The 2011 World Cup style is a classic blue score strip; the 2019 World Cup style has white pills over an indigo-to-pink sweep, a score bug that folds and expands, and a big swirl on every six and four. Switch looks in the console and the overlay redraws in seconds.

Stream your player auction too

Running a player auction in Krickit? Krickast broadcasts it with its own look: the player on the block with base price, both teams in the race, the bid counting up, and a SOLD or UNSOLD moment.

Questions

How do I add a live cricket score to my YouTube stream?

Score the match in Krickit, open krickit.in/broadcast, put the match on air and add your overlay link as a browser source in OBS, Prism Live or vMix. The score then updates ball by ball on your stream.

Does the cricket score overlay work with OBS?

Yes. Add the overlay link as a Browser source in OBS Studio at 1920 × 1080. Prism Live Studio and vMix work the same way.

Do I have to type the score into the overlay?

No. The overlay follows the match being scored in the Krickit app, so there is nothing to type twice.

How much does the live score overlay cost?

50 Krickit coins to put a match on air and 250 coins for a player auction, paid once. Top up coins in the Krickit app.

Can I show sponsor logos on the stream?

Yes. Tournament organisers add sponsor logos in Krickit; they take turns in the corner of the stream and can go full screen.
